favorite thing about SEI

My favorite thing about SEI is the rotations, there filled with fun packed tasks and as your having fun you forget your learning. Another thing is the field trips the field trips also whether its phisically, mentally, or just having fun your learning and you don’ t even know it. Some of my favorite classes is BRB  it’s a class that is only boys and it teaches you about discipline  but gets deeper than you usually  would It’s tought by bubba. Another class is recreation its phisical education it’s tought by John and Mr.Moore. The other groups at SEI are journalism, dance, step class, advanced and begining drummers.Kids at Boise-Eliot are 2nd through 5th grade 6th through 8th grade go to the SEI center.

journalism class

Do you know how journalism all started? you don’t ? yet I do. Well heres a little story about it, journalism is about the SEI newspaper. It all started when Mr. Foster asked Mr. Adels if he wanted to run the SEI newspaper, Mr. Adels accepted this job Mr. Foster announced that Mr. Adels would be running the class. Mr. Adels asked if anyone  wanted to be in journalism not to many people wanted to be in the class but some people did want to be in journalism. Those people were  D’Marius,Tamarr,Chamaria,Rayonna,Kavina and many others some people got kicked off,got sick, or didn’t come or other reasons. A few weeks later Mr. Macc asked a few other people thats when we really got started, we made booklets to right down notes we went to class romms and rotations like Rec. board games, and a few others. This week is our last week to get this newspaper up and running today there is only me(Carson) Tamarr,Chamaria and Alima we are really trying to get most of the work done so its smooth sailing for the rest of this week. My(Carson) jod is to type up our articles and get ideas for top 75, Chamaria and  Alima are interviewing classes and coaches. Tamarr’s is to right about our newest article teamwork.

TOP 75 Advice

dear newspaper,

I need help. Can you get me to top 75?

for real,

curious kid

curious kid,

If you want to make TOP 75 this summer there’s 3 things you gotta know. First, TOP 75 is all about points, which are a way of rewarding participation and good behavior. The top 75 kids with the most points at the end of the summer are handpicked to go on a bomb surprise field trip.

So you got your AM classes which are doing your school work for summer school. To get points in AM you gotta participate and show willingness to learn. In the PM we got our rotations in which you gotta be there, participate, and demonstrate the SEI standards. Also, in each rotation they might give you extra points for hard work, sometimes individually and sometimes as a group.

At SEI we got a group for each color of the spectrum. Another way that an entire color can earn points is through the chant competition. Each team color has to work on their chant to try to win the chant competition and get into the top 75 field trip. So if your team is right, make sure you hold on tight.

Standards Lookout: Kids Being Truthful

Have you ever had an experience where you lost something and you announced it and somebody gave it back to you? Well her is an event of when a boy gave an adult back what the adult lost.

It all started during recess. Mr. Foster was playing and talking with the kids. Then he dropped his money onto the ground without even noticing. Zashan picked it up (not knowing that it was anybody’s) and put it in his pocket. Mr. Foster was looking in his  wallet because he wanted to buy something but he noticed that he missed two fives.

So at gym talk Mr. Foster said he had an announcement to make. He was going to offer 500 points as a reward for the return of the money but before he could even say it, Zashawn stood up and gave him the two fives. Then Mr. Mac gave Zashawn a dollar. Then Ms. Granville gave Zashawn a dollar in 4 quarters. Mr. Mac joked “cmon gramma”. Mr. Mac gave Zashawn 500 points, and asked if anyone knew which standard he was representing. Isiah Lampton stood up and did standard number four.

“In sei we  are mindful of what is true and strive to be honest in word and deed.
